We receive many enquiries from indie authors and whilst we would love to stock you all, we are a tiny shop and team and although we have saved a specific shelf for our indie and self-published authors we can neither respond to all requests or stock as many as we would like.
We therefore carefully curate our indie author selection. We will neither accept AI created books or books we have not read and considered carefully and of course they need to be within the fantasy, dark academia, gothic or mythology/fairytale retelling genres.
All of our books are YA, NA or Adult. We do not sell children's books and cannot accept them.
We strongly recommend that you read the Booksellers Associations Guide for Indie Authors before approaching us -
Our TERMS for Indie Authors are:
- acceptance of books is on a consignment basis for a three month period
- the number of books we accept is at our sole discretion
- we take 35% of sales and will report to you at the end of each month and let you know how many have sold and how much is due to you. We will then account to you for your 65% share within 5 Business Days of receipt of an invoice addressed to us and relating to the relevant period
- at the end of the three month period, if any books are unsold (and unless we have agreed otherwise in writing) we expect you to arrange collection of the unsold books within 10 Business Days or they will be donated to a charitable bookstore.
